Nirmala murder case remains a mystery even after five years
A source said that the police have arrested an Indian national on suspicion of his involvement in the case a few years ago. According to the source, the police have arrested the son of an Indian national who was cultivating vegetables in the area where Nirmala's body was found. SP Chaturvedi did not want to reveal the details. The DNA sample of the arrested has been sent for test to determine if he was involved in the case.
SP Chaturvedi said that no one has been arrested on the basis of definite crime. "In the past too, we interviewed many Indian nationals. We are continuing to interrogate suspects from all over Nepal and India to gather evidence and to resolve the mystery surrounding the rape and murder," he said.
Police have so far interrrogated hundreds of people in connection with the Nirmala Pant's murder. About 600 people have been interrogated by making written documents and DNA samples of about 100 people have been tested already.
