LONDON, Jan 18: Chandra Kumar Ghimire has officially assumed his duties as the Nepali Ambassador to the United Kingdom.
According to the Nepali Embassy in London, Ambassador Ghimire arrived in London on Friday morning and began his duty at the embassy.

A welcoming team, including Special Representative of the UK Foreign Office David Pierre, Charge d'Affaires of the Nepali Embassy Bipin Duwadi, and others, greeted Ambassador Ghimire at Heathrow Airport. Ghimire is the 23rd ambassador to represent Nepal in the UK.
In a previous statement during a parliamentary hearing in Nepal, Ambassador Ghimire expressed his commitment to addressing the issues faced by the British Gurkhas. He emphasized his priority of resolving the ongoing concerns of Gurkhas, who retired from the British Gurkha Army before 1997. "I am dedicated to bringing the ongoing talks regarding these veterans to a conclusion that serves their best interests as soon as possible," Ghimire said.
Additionally, Ambassador Ghimire mentioned his focus on increasing development assistance to Nepal.
