KATHMANDU: Minister for Labor and Transportation Lekha Raj Bhatta has set Tuesday as deadline to adjust fare of public transport as per the new fuel price.
Though fuel prices were reduced twice since the last hike, the subsequently increased fare in buses, taxis, micro buses and three-wheelers was not adjusted accordingly.
The minister´s assurance to introduce a new transportation fare came after a meeting with six student unions, excluding NC-aligned Nepal Students´ Union and CPN-UML-affiliated All Nepal Free Students´ Union, at the minister´s official residence at Pulchowk this morning.

Later, speaking at an interaction, the minister said that the fare would be adjusted by Monday.
