Speaking at a press conference organized at the Home Ministry on Wednesday, he said: “The transfer of home secretary Lila Mani Poudyal was the decision of the cabinet. We appointed Sushil Jung Bahadur Rana as the new home secretary because he has more experience and capability to handle issues at the home ministry.” [break]
He also termed the transfer a routine matter.
Responding to the media queries about the misunderstandings between him and Secretary Poudyal, he said there is nothing wrong between them.
The cabinet meeting on September 16 transferred Lila Mani Pokharel to the Prime Minister´s Office (PMO) and brought Sushil Jung Bahadur Rana to the Home Ministry as the new secretary.
He countered the media reports that claimed the transfer was done to clear routes for red sandalwood smuggling.

“The media reports about the clearance of smuggling route are hypothetical.” Gachchhadar even claimed that the smuggling of the red-sandalwood has been stopped completely.
“I even don´t know the color of red sandalwood; I just know it as a wood. How can I be involved in its smuggling” he asked.
On the 20th day after Gachchhadar took oath of office as the Home Minister, he said that he hasn´t built any pressure to transfer or promote police officials.
He, however, informed that the transfer will be done within a couple of days or so.
