UAE, Oct 18: Embassy of Nepal in Abu Dhabi, UAE has issued a notice making it compulsory for migrant workers to furnish various documents while travelling to Nepal on vacation.

Nepali migrant workers who travel to Nepal on vacation need to attest copy of the labor permit issued from Nepal, copy of passport and visa, contract paper and copy of receipt of deposit of 5000 Dirham, according to a press release issued by the embassy.

The new provision will be applicable to all Nepali migrants who have been working as domestic workers including cook, house watchman, gardener, baby-sitter, servant, private driver, housemaid/boy and house cleaner, according to the embassy.

The new provision is expected to control human trafficking of Nepalis to the UAE, according to the embassy officials. “The new provision is introduced after receiving complaints regarding Nepali migrant workers being duped by agents,” Krishna Aryal, second secretary at the embassy, said.

It is not difficult to implement the provision as the government has issued license to only ten manpower agencies to send workers to the UAE, he said.
