Pant filed the petition on Tuesday, claiming that Adhikari does meet the academic qualification requirement prescribed in Investment Board Act 2011. He has claimed that the Act states that the candidate for CEO should have a Masters degree from any recognized university in any one of economics, management, engineering and project analysis, and business law. But Adhikari has not submitted such qualifications in his application, Pant has argued.

In the writ petition, Pant has claimed that Adhikari completed a course on chartered accountancy and later completed Bachelors in Business Administration.

Asked about his opinion on the writ, Pant refused to comment saying that saying that the case is subjudice.
