KATHMANDU, April 19: Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) on Wednesday added 15.13 points to close at 1,920.12 points.
The secondary market opened at 1,904.98 points and gained around 20 points within a very short time of the trading started. However, the market could not retain its attraction for the share investors and went downhill to reach the same level in the next 40 minutes. For the next two hours, the market remained stable before peaking up in the last half an hour.
Nepse stretches winning run with record weekly turnover
Only the mutual funds group out of the 13 trading groups lost its market value. Of the gainers, non-life insurance, adding 70.84 points to its index, topped the list.
In the intraday trading, 167 listed companies were gainers, while 41 companies lost in their market values. The sensitive index that measures the performance of the blue chips companies gained 2.85 points.
The daily turnover stood at Rs 872.14 million, marginally higher than Rs 870.44 million on Tuesday. In all four trading days this week, the daily turnover amount has not crossed Rs 1 billion.
Among individual companies, Swabalamban Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited Promoter Share had transactions of its shares worth Rs 88.31 million and stood on the top of the category. Kalinchowk Darshan Limited was recorded as the biggest gainer. Adarsha Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited lost the highest percentage of its market price.
