KATHMANDU, Sept 24: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) on Tuesday took a nosedive, shedding 58.93 points to close at 2,470.39 points.
The secondary market opened at 2,529.33 points and reached the day’s high at 2,547.20 points in the first 25 minutes. The market however went downhill in the remaining trading time and hit the day’s low at 2,463.24 points in the last three minutes. The index recovered around seven points before the market closed for the day.

The sensitive index, which measures the performance of ‘A’ class companies, declined 9.52 points. The daily turnover inclined to Rs 5.68 billion from Rs 5.66 billion on Monday.
Among individual companies, only 10 were recorded as gainers whereas 233 were the losers.
All the 13 groups were the losers, with non-life insurance losing the highest of 176.36 points in its index. A total of seven trading groups lost three-digit points.
NLG Insurance Company Ltd had the biggest turnover of its shares worth Rs 184.17 million. Himalayan Hydropower Limited was recorded as the topmost loser. Swarojgar Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Ltd added 8.81 percent in its market value, the biggest of all.
