KATHMANDU, March 22: Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) surged 16.04 points to close at 2,650.70 points on Tuesday.
The secondary market that opened at 2,634.65 points rose as high as 2,657.92 points in the intraday trading. Along with the overall index, the sensitive index of ‘A’ class companies also increased 3.03 points to close at 499.33 points.
Nepse up for a fifth consecutive week
Except hydropower, trading and finance, the rest of the 10 trading groups gained in their average stock prices. The total turnover amount stood at Rs 2.51 billion, down from Rs 2.59 billion on Monday.
Among individual companies, Prabhu Insurance Company Limited Promoter Shares witnessed the largest transaction amount of its scrip worth Rs 153.34 million. Emerging Nepal Limited was the highest gainer while Everest Insurance Company Limited Promoter Share was the topmost loser of the day.
