KATHMANDU, Feb 7: Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) gained 15.71 points to close at 2,851.88 points on Monday.
The secondary market went down by over 10 points in the first few hours of the commencement of trading, which rose as high as 2,853.50 on the intraday trading. Except banking, microfinance and hotels and tourism, the rest of the 10 groups witnessed a gain in their average share price.
Nepse up for a fifth consecutive week
Despite a decline of 40.57 points in the Nepse index on Sunday, the investors appear mature in the stocks trading on the second day of the week. The turnover amount, however, declined to Rs 5.02 billion from Rs 5.83 billion.
The investors on scrip of Nepal Infrastructure Bank Limited (NIFRA) gained the largest of 8.42 percent. The company also had the highest turnover of its shares worth Rs 493.44 million.
