KATHMANDU, August 31: Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) on Wednesday plunged 21.97 points to close at 1,973.38 points.
The market opened at 1,995.34 points. It initially rose to 1,996.31 points within the first few minutes, before going into a straight fall for the remaining trading hours. The total turnover amount stood at just Rs 1.12 billion.
Nepse marginally lower in week after last session recovery
The sensitive index that measures the performance of blue chip companies fell 4.36 points. All 13 trading groups landed in the red while life insurance lost the biggest of 137.44 points.
Nepal Doorsanchar Company Limited had the largest daily transaction amount of Rs 107.48 million. Himalayan Power Partner Limited lost the highest percent in its share price, whereas Himalayan Everest Insurance Limited Promoter share was the top gainer.
