KATHMANDU, May 11: Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) on Wednesday escalated by 56.06 points to close at 2,369.06 points.
This is the fourth consecutive day that the secondary market leapt by double-digit points. Since the beginning of this week, the market has gained around 127 points.
Nepse marginally lower in week after last session recovery
On Wednesday, the market opened at 2,313 points and went through a series of ups and downs in intraday trading. Along with a notable rise in the overall index, the authority imposed positive circuits in transactions of shares of nine companies after the share prices crossed the prescribed percentage limit.
The entire 13 trading groups gained in their average share prices. The index of non-life insurance surged the highest by 243.74 points.
Among individual companies, Arun Valley Hydropower Development Company Ltd had a transaction of its shares worth Rs 105.97 million, the largest of all. Nepal Finance Limited was the top gainer while Sanima Debenture 2087 witnessed a drop of the highest percentage in its market value.
