Among the seven sub-sectors, the index of banking sector, which represents a lion’s share in the share market, slipped by 8.33 points to close at 658.86 points. Among the listed commercial banks, Machhapuchhre Bank suffered the heaviest loss of Rs 120 per share while International leasing and Finance Company lost Rs 51 per share on Sunday.
Likewise, the indices of hydropower and finance companies sub sector also tumbled by 17 point during Sunday’s trading while the index of insurance sub-sector went down by 3.43 points. NEPSE index had scaled to a record high of 1,175 points on August 31, 2008.
