Nepal’s electricity production capacity reaches 3,602 MW

Nepal’s total electricity production capacity has reached 3,602 MW as of mid-March 2025.

KATHMANDU, May 29: Nepal’s total electricity production capacity has reached 3,602 MW as of mid-March 2025.


Unveiling the Economic Survey 2025/26 on Thursday, Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel stated that the total includes output from all hydropower plants and alternative energy sources. With the latest government data, access to electricity has now reached 99 percent of the population.

Similarly, the total length of roads constructed by the federal government stands at 36,132 kilometers, encompassing both strategic and local road networks. Internet user density has reached 144.23 percent, while 72 percent of households now have access to digital television.
