Nepali students participating in World Robot Olympiad

KATHMANDU, Sept 22: Two teams of students each from Uniglobe Secondary School and Nepal Police School are participating in the World Robot Olympiad 2018 scheduled to be held in Bangkok, Thailand from November 16-18.


Three students from each group will demonstrate their innovations at the Olympiad.

Gaurav Chapagain, Swikar Adhikari and Arun Chaudhary of Uniglobe College and Lucky Sah, Utshab Raj Kandel and Ritik Sah of Police School have been selected for the robotic competition.


They were selected through internal competition to participate at the global level. As part of pre-competition, they demonstrated their robots at the National Robotic Competition organized by STEM Foundation Nepal on the theme of agricultural automation at Uniglobe College, Kamaladi on Wednesday.


The competition was held among college level students.


“During the competition, the robots had to plant the trees, water them and harvest the fruits and store them in a container,” said Rupendra Aryal, program coordinator at World Robot Olympiad Nepal 2018.


According to Aryal, 11 schools and eight colleges participated in the competition.
