Nepali Sikh followers to attend Int Sikh Conclave in Indian State of Bihar

INDIA, Jan 5: A delegation of Nepali followers of Sikhism led by Chief of Guru Nanak Service Foundation, Research Center in Birgunj, Jaspal Singh, is partaking in the 1st International Sikh Conclave to be held at Patna of Indian State of Bihar from today.

INDIA, Jan 5: A delegation of Nepali followers of Sikhism led by Chief of Guru Nanak Service Foundation, Research Center in Birgunj, Jaspal Singh, is partaking in the 1st International Sikh Conclave to be held at Patna of Indian State of Bihar from today. 



The global conclave will be attended by more than 200 scholars, researchers and noted personalities from around the world, including Nepal, where they will present papers on various aspects of the religion ranked as the world's 5th largest religion. 



Scores of Sikh pilgrims, followers and devout devotees from Nepal have been attending the ongoing celebrations of the 350th birth anniversary of the tenth Sikh Guru Gobind Singh Sahib in the city housing the birth place of Guru Gobind Singh in Patna Sahib. 


Patna has been witnessing flurry of activities since January 3, all aimed at celebrating the legacy of Sikhism. A huge procession attended by thousands of Sikh followers and non-Sikh followers alike was taken out in several places in Patna today morning in connection with the celebration.

The government of Bihar has declared three days of public holidays since last Tuesday to mark the occasion expected to be attended by more than 1 million Sikh followers from all over the world. 


One among the participants from Nepal Subodh Kumar Yadav shared that history has it that Guru Gobind Singh travelled to Baraha Kshetra in Sunsari in Nepal and conducted various humanitarian activities there. RSS
