KATHMANDU, August 27: Nepali nationals waiting for the evacuation from Afghanistan are safe despite a massive blast at Kabul airport on Thursday.


According to Nilamber Acharya, Ambassador of Nepal to India, all the Nepali citizens at the Kabul airport are safe and sound. The Embassy of Nepal in India is also responsible for overseeing Afghanistan.

Taking to his twitter account, Acharya shared that Nepali nationals at the Kabul Airport are safe.


Two suicide bombers and gunmen attacked crowds of Afghans flocking to Kabul’s airport Thursday, transforming a scene of desperation into one of horror in the waning days of an airlift for those fleeing the Taliban takeover. The attacks killed at least 60 Afghans and 13 U.S. troops, Afghan and U.S. officials, reported the Associated Press.
