Popular artist Neer Shah inaugurated the showroom amid a function in the capital on Sunday. Inaugurating the showroom, Shah said he has been using Nepali shoes for almost 7 months now and found Nepali footwear durable and affordable. “I have visited the US and many European countries wearing Nepali shoes. Surendra Prasad Dahal, chairman of Nepali Jutta Ghar, said the main objective of opening multi-brand shoes outlet is to promote local brands. “We have opened this showroom to promote local brands as well as to make available products of leading Nepali brands under one roof,” Dahal said, unveiling plans to open outlets in different parts of the Kathmandu Valley in the near future. “We have plans to open showrooms outside the Valley as well.”
The store features wide sports, casual, party, official, college and school, ladies shoes and sandals for men and women from leading brands like BF Dear Hill, Shikhar, Sky, Leather Wings, Koseli, Takura, Footland, Crossroad, National, Shoe Land and Utsav. The produces are priced between Rs 300 and Rs 5,000.
Dahal said they are hopeful that the new outlet will get good response from people as it is located at a major shopping area in the Valley.
Krishna Phuyal, one of the promoters of the store and managing director of Crossroad, said the outlet will provide 15 percent discount for 10 days on the occasion of its opening. “Besides, customers buying Shoe Land men shoes worth Rs 1,500 or more will get Shoe Land women shoes worth Rs 500 free of cost,” he added.
According to Leather Footwear and Goods Manufacturers Association of Nepal, local products enjoy 55 percent share of Nepal´s footwear market.
