NSJF Academy Chairperson and AIPS Asia Treasurer Niranjan Rajbanshi inaugurated the event, emphasizing the importance of the initiative. “This program has been an eye-opener for many of us in the sports journalism community. Esports is no longer just entertainment; it is a serious industry with immense potential for Nepal,” he stated.

The training featured a comprehensive presentation by NESA President Suraj Dongol, who highlighted the global growth of esports and Nepal’s potential to carve its space within the international ecosystem. He emphasized fostering talent and building a robust infrastructure to integrate Nepal into the global esports movement.

Adding to the technical depth, Nepal’s IESF-certified referees, Arun Mishra and Saujanya Shrestha, conducted an engaging session on esports formats, scoring systems, and tournament structures. Their insights provided the journalists with the necessary tools to report on competitive gaming accurately.

The “Know Your Games” initiative is part of NSJF Academy’s broader mission to enhance sports journalism by offering specialized training on various sports. This edition specifically focused on esports, addressing the growing relevance of this dynamic industry.
