KATHMANDU, April 27: The government has decided to go for two public holidays - on Saturday and Sunday - every week, with effect from May 15.
It has been decided to maintain office hours from 9:30 AM to 5:30 PM with effect from May 15 as a trial. “Public holidays will be given two days a week on Saturday and Sunday,” according to the latest Cabinet decisions.
Cut-off public holidays should be reinstated: Dahal
Earlier, the finance ministry submitted a proposal to the Council of Ministers, urging the Cabinet to declare a public holiday on Sunday as well to reduce fuel consumption.
