In the absence of the apex cricketing body, the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) which was suspended three years ago, the tour was finalized in co-ordination with the International Cricket Council (ICC) and the Emirates Cricket Board. Nepal will play the ODI series first followed by the T20I series in the two-week-long tour. The camp for the tour will be announced shortly and the subsequent squad will be finalized.
The UAE captain Rohan Mustafa, spinner Ahmed Raza and Rameez Shahzad will miss the series after being suspended for eight weeks by the Emirates cricket board for criticizing the Karachi Cricket Stadium facilities in Pakistan on twitter after its match in ACC Emerging Nations Cup match was abandoned last month.
Similarly, Nepal’s premium fast bowler Sompal Kami is nursing an ankle injury which forced him to sit out of the Everest Premier League completed last week. He played the last group match for his franchise Kathmandu Kings XI, but didn’t bowl in the match.
