Issuing a statement on Wednesday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA), said that the high-level delegation will hold talks with the government authorities of the Gulf Countries in regard to Nepali migrant workers and their conditions. [break]
Recently, officiating Foreign Secretary, Ambika Luitel had inquired with Qatari envoy to Nepal, Mohammad Ali Al-Hamer, on the working condition of the Nepali working in Qatar.
During the meeting, Luitel stressed on the need to comply with the provisions stated in the Employment Contracts by the concerned companies recruiting Nepali citizens.
“The envoy informed that the Qatari Government has taken this matter seriously and assured that it would not leave any stone unturned while addressing concerns of a large number of Nepalese working in Qatar,” reads the statement.
Charge‘d’ Affaires at the Nepal embassy in Qatar, Ganesh Dhakal held meetings with the Qatari government officials regarding the condition of Nepali workers, the statement further said. During the meetings, Qatari officials assured him to take necessary steps to resolve the ongoing problems.
