KATHMANDU, Dec 23: Nepal SBI Bank Ltd has launched two new products -- NSBL Payment Gateway Phase-II (India to Nepal) and Merchant Acquiring Services (POS Terminal).
Indian ambassador to Nepal, Ranjit Rae, and Siddhartha Sengupta, DMD (IBG) State Bank of India, and Chinta Mani Siwakoti, deputy governor of Nepal Rastra Bank, jointly launched the products in Kathmandu on Thursday.

According to a press release issued by the bank, it has introduced these products as part of its business strategy to continue its pursuit of catering new and technology-based banking products to Nepali customers.
"With the launch of NSBL Payment Gateway -Phase II, Nepali customers will now been able to seamlessly receive remittances from India to their bank accounts in Nepal on a real time basis," it added. "Similarly, with the launching of POS Terminal, the customers will now be able to enjoy cashless transaction for their purchases in a more secured and seamless way." The bank has also said that it will install its POS terminals at different locations in a phase-wise manner to reach total number of terminals to 500 within one year.
