KATHMANDU, Feb 23: Nepal's first rock singer Mike Khadka passed away on Thursday at his residence in Lalitpur. He was 69.
His last ritual will be performed today at Pashupati Aryaghat. Although his real name was Mukund Kumar Khadka, his stage name was Mike Khadka.

Director and radio personality Prakash Sayami said that the death of Khadka has caused damage to the Nepali music industry. He also mentioned that Khadka is called the Elvis Presley of Nepal. Khadka is also a connoisseur of Nepali, Hindi and English music.
Khadla collaborated with singers such as Om Bikram Bista, Arun Thapa and Divya Khaling. Although he recorded some English songs, he could not release the album. He also collaborated with Freedom, which is considered to be the oldest musical band of the country.
Of late, he was preparing to write a book on music. He was also the director of Classic FM. He was also running a program on the same FM. Late Khadka is survived by his wife and a son.
