KATHMANDU, July 2: Nepal Press Union staged a demonstration at the central office of the Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ) on Monday, demanding the following:
The demands of Nepal Press Union include cancellation of the membership of non-journalists not recommended by any valid structure of the Federation of Nepali Journalists, maintaining membership recommended by the branch and state committees of the FNJ according to the statute, law, and procedure, offering membership to active journalists who have completed the required process.

In addition, Nepal Press Union has also urged to ensure that the FNJ operates in accordance with its statute and postpone the election schedule and resolve membership disputes to create a conducive environment for holding elections.
