KATHMANDU, Jan 12: The government is all set to extract iron from the recently explored iron ore reserve in Dhaubadhi VDC of Nawalparasi district, Ministry of Industries, Commerce and Supplies said on Sunday.
Secretary at the ministry, Yam Kumari Khatiwada, told a press conference that quality and sample testing of iron has been successfully done. "Accordingly, the modality of the project has also been prepared," she said.

According to Khatiwada, the government has already established a company for the extraction and processing of iron ore. "The iron's industrial test is currently underway in China," she said.
She informed that the extraction process of petroleum products in Dailek has already started in collaboration with the Chinese government.
According to her, works related to the extraction of petroleum products are also being carried out in Surkhet and Palpa districts.
Last year, a group of geologists had explored huge iron ore reserves in Dhaubadhi VDC of Nawalparasi, 22 km into the forest from the highway.
The deposits amount to more than 8 million tonnes, making them the largest in Nepal, according to geologists. The reserves were found during the second exploration of the area.
