KATHMANDU, April 19: Nepal and Bulgaria have celebrated the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations.
Speaking at a ceremony to mark the 50th anniversary of the diplomatic relationship between two countries, diplomats, business leaders and government officials have highlighted the cordial ties between the countries.

The diplomatic relationship between Nepal and Bulgaria was established in April 15, 1968. Petko Doykov, the ambassador of Bulgaria to Nepal and India, said that the relationship between the two countries has reached a new high.
“50-year is not a short time and we can do a lot for each other’s country,” he said, adding that the relationship between two countries has remained cordial.
Also speaking at the ceremony, Bhola Bikram Thapa, Honorary Consul of Bulgaria to Nepal, said that there was a potential for the cooperation between two countries in areas of trade and tourism.
“There should be government-level support to strengthen ties between two countries on trade and tourism,” said Thapa.
