KATHMANDU, Dec 7: Nepal national men's football team has defeated the Maldives 2-1 in the match played at the Dasharath Stadium, Tripureshwor in Kathmandu on Saturday.
Despite having conceded a goal in the 18th minute, Nepal made an impressive comeback and registered the win against the visiting team.

Earlier, Ibrahim Mahudhee Hussain of Maldives scored against Nepal in 18th minute. However, the first half ended 1-1 as Nepal's Abhisek Rijal scored equalizer goal in the 42nd minute utilizing the cross by Ananta Tamang from the defense line. The final and deciding goal for Nepal was from Ananta Tamang in the 52nd minute.
With this win, Nepal has climbed to the top spot on the points table replacing Bhutan with seven points from three games.
A huge number of Nepali football gathered at the stadium to cheer their team.
