Nepal Army gets UN medal

KATHMANDU, Dec 14: The Nepalese Army peacekeeping force deployed in Rombek of South Sudan has been awarded with the United Nations Medal for outstanding performance.

United Nations Force Commander in South Sudan, Lieutenant General Frank Mushyo Kamanzi handed over the Medal to the Nepalese Army amidst a function held in Rombek recently, the United Nations Office, Lalitpur stated today. 


Nepal has been sending the Nepalese Army to UN peacekeeping operations since 1958 and Nepalese Army has participated in 42 peace keeping operations so far. The Nepalese Army blue helmets are presently serving in 14 places. RSS
