Ministry of Culture and State Restructuring took the decision, following tremendous pressure from academicians who said most of the appointees were not from the field of literature or did not deserve the appointment.
The ministry has also dissolved Academy Assembly Nomination Committee formed on February 11, according to state-owned Gorkhapatra daily. However, the ministry has retained the nominations to two others, Nepal Fine Arts Academy and Nepal Drama and Music Academy. The nomination to the Nepal Academy was put off after the Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal gave directive to this effect, following criticisms from various quarters.
