Nembang, who arrived to attend a program organized to declare Chitwan, an open defecation-free district, expressed dissatisfaction over the slow progress in peace and constitution despite parties´ commitments. [break]
At a press meet at the Bharatpur Airport, Nembang said the country´s peace process would not move ahead unless the parties resolve the disputes. He said the parties should be able to bring the first draft of the constitution within 45 days as the parties have expressed their commitment in this regard.
Similarly, UCPN (Maoist) Chief whip Dev Prasad Gurung said that the rift inside the party will not hamper the ongoing peace process.
Gurung told RSS that the Maoist party was committed to taking the peace process to a logical conclusion and write constitution within the slated timeframe.
Likewise, chief whip of the Nepali Congress (NC) Laxman Ghimire also expressed NC´s commitment to the peace process, but said that it could not proceed due to the four-point agreement signed by UCPN- Maoist with the Madhes-based parties meant for merely forming the government.
