KATHMANDU, April 24: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has expressed his commitment that he will not do anything bad during his tenure and will not allow anyone else to do such things. He expressed such a commitment while giving his speech on the occasion of Nepal Republic Media entering the 15th year of establishment on Monday.
“This time we have come to change the government. I will not do anything bad myself and will not let others do it either. I promise,” he said. Stating that some people are not allowing the government to do good work, PM Dahal said that he foil their attempts.
“They neither let me live nor die”
Speaking at the program, Prime Minister Dahal said that the country's political changes are also connected with the media. Stating that Nepal Republic Media is linked to the republic as its name suggests, he praised the relationship between the Republic Nepal and the Nepal Republic Media.
He assured that the government will not harass the press under any circumstances. He also made it clear that he would not enact rules and laws that would infringe upon the freedom of the press.
Stating that he has decided to go through a single system in the distribution of advertising, PM Dahal expressed his belief that it will help in the overall development of the media.
He said that the media world has been affected by the economic downturn caused by the pandemic. He further said that the government has started to work for the improvement of the economy and its effects are starting to be seen gradually.
