NEA, Bharatpur Distribution Center blacklists 270 customers

BHARATPUR, May 22: Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) Distribution Center, Bharatpur has blacklisted 270 customers who have not paid dues for a long time.


The distribution center has started preparations to send details of three generations of blacklisted customers to the Malpot Office, Land Revenue Office, District Administration Office and Bharatpur Metropolitan Municipality.

According to NEA Engineer Rajendra Paudel, the office is about to issue a circular so that they will be denied services being provided by those offices. The office is yet to collect over Rs 7 million dues from the blacklisted customers. 


He said that the distribution center will give a 10 percent discount on the fine if customers pay the outstanding amount by the end of the current fiscal year. He said, “This discount is an opportunity for customers who pay dues. Let's all use it."


Under this distribution center, there are 12 customers with arrears of more than Rs 100,000. He said that the process of blacklisting other customers who have not paid dues for a long time has also started. According to him, the distribution center currently has 65,000 customers.
