KATHMANDU, Dec 27: The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority (NDRRMA) has requested the public to take precautions, saying that the weather in the country will change from this afternoon, as per the information received from the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology (DHM).
Spokesperson for the NDRRMA, Dijan Bhattarai, urged the public to exercise caution due to the expected increase in cold weather and the potential health issues it may cause. He mentioned that snowfall could occur in high hilly and mountainous areas, rain in some places, and a cold wave could sweep across the Terai.

The DHM issued a special bulletin regarding the weather change, stating that due to the western low-pressure system, the weather will gradually shift from partial to generally cloudy in many parts of the country starting this afternoon. Tomorrow, Saturday, snowfall is expected in most parts of the high hilly and mountainous areas of Sudurpashchim and Karnali provinces, and in some areas of the high hilly and mountainous regions of Gandaki, Bagmati, and Koshi provinces.
