KATHMANDU, Sept 22: A Secretariat meeting of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) has decided to reshuffle the cabinet at the earliest possible date to ensure the effective functioning of the government.
According to NCP Spokesperson Narayan Kaji Shrestha, the 68th meeting of the party’s Secretariat body held at the prime minister’s official residence in Baluwatar made an understanding to this effect. This comes after the party’s Standing Committee meeting earlier made a unanimous decision to reshuffle cabinet to make the government’s works effective.

According to Prime Minister K P Oli’s Press Advisor Surya Thapa, the Secretariat members also put forth their views to fill vacant positions in various constitutional bodies. The meeting also entrusted the responsibility of chairmen duo K P Oli and Pushpa Kamal Dahal and General Secretary Bishnu Paudel to prepare a concrete proposal to complete the remaining tasks of the party’s unification within the next 10 days.
The two-day Secretariat meeting was held at the NCP Office in Parisdanda on Monday. The meeting was continued for the second day at the prime minister’s official residence in Baluwatar on Tuesday.
