JHAPA, Dec 20: A leader of Nepal Communist Party (NCP) has gone missing from Jhapa district since Wednesday morning. Police have initiated a search for NCP leader Dipak Bhandari after he went out of contact from his residence in Mechinagar-10.
Deputy Superintendent of Police of District Police Office Mahendra Kumar Shrestha has said that police teams have been deployed immediately after the information about Bhandari’s missing. He also said police are working to collect the call details of his mobile phones adding that information are being collected from Bhandari’s partners involved in economic transactions.

Bhandari’s wife Gita said that Dipak had set out to his college from home at around 9:30 am on Wednesday. “Since then, contact has not been established with him,” Gita said. However, leader Bhandari has left his two mobile phone sets at his home.
Leader Bhandari was the chairman of the then CPN (UML) Mechinagar and also served as the chair of Dhulabari Jaycees. Bhandari holds multiple social responsibilities including director of Himalayan College in the district.
