NC, UML to be flexible for bringing disgruntle parties in poll process

LALITPUR, Aug 11:
Senior leaders of the Nepali Congress (NC) and CPN (UML) have agreed to be flexible over the demands of poll opposing political parties and move with necessary preparations on holding the Constituent Assembly election in the slated time.



The meeting held at the residence of UML leader Krishna Lal Maharjan, at Balkumari in Lalitpur, the NC and UML leaders agreed in principle to address the demands of the CPN-Maoist and Federal Democratic Front as far as possible.[break]



"Election is not an alternative but we have been making our efforts to bring the poll opposing parties in the election process," said NC leader Dr. Ram Sharan Mahat.



Similarly, UML leader Raghuji Panta said, "An informal meeting between the parties was held to make a clear and common view among the political parties affiliated in the High Level Political Committee (HLPC) to bring the poll opposing parties in the election process."



President of NC, Sushil Koirala, General Secretary, Krishna Sitaula, leader Ram Sharan Mahat, former Prime Minister and senior leader of UML, Madhav Kumar Nepal, General Secretary, Ishwor Pokhrel, and leader Raghuji Panta attended the meeting.
