KATHMANDU, Sept 19: As per the preliminary vote count result underway in Province 2 on Monday, Nepali Congress is taking lead in Siraha, Rautahat, Sarlahi and Dhanusha.
NC is taking lead in 12 mayoral posts and 13 deputy mayoral posts of the local units of Province 2.

Similarly, UML is taking lead in seven local units, while Rastriya Janata Party (RJP) is ahead in five units. Independent candidates are also taking lead in some places.
The vote count is underway in 136 local units including major cities Birgunj and Janakpur.
