Stating that Banchare Danda, Okharpowa and Sisadole are not enough for proper management of garbage, Mahat said that modern machines are needed as an alternative to solve the garbage issue. Spokesperson Mahat said that the government should be serious in keeping people of Banchare Danda away from the horrible odor, diseases and accidents. He said that there should be a long-term solution for waste management and that the demand of locals to get rid of the foul smell of waste is a legitimate demand.
Spokesperson Mahat said, "The main problem is the odor and the disease that comes out of it. Accidents, employment problems and livelihood problems need to be addressed and the government needs to be serious. There must be a long-term solution. We have to look for alternatives.”
Spokesperson Mahat also urged the government to provide relief to locals keeping in view the current situation in Kathmandu. He said that the demand of locals–taking immediate measures to reduce the stench of garbage– should be fulfilled.
