Sources close to Koirala said he is arriving at 6:10 pm Saturday. “Doctors have diagnosed that he does not have any medical condition,” said one of his aides. “He will now fully engage himself in party activities and work toward preparing for election campaign.” [break]
President Koirala, who left Kathmandu on June 27, had undergone follow-up medical checkup of his tongue at New York-based Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, where he first underwent cancer operation on his tongue a few years ago. Doctors have advised him to visit the hospital each year for follow-up medical checkups.
During his 17-day stay in New York, Koirala also attended various functions organized by NC-affiliated Nepali Liaison Committee. NC has not been able to gear up election preparations including preparation of election manifesto and party´s activities at the local level due to Koirala´s absence.
