NC President Deuba flays bombings in Iraq

KATHMANDU, July 3: Nepali Congress (NC) President Sher Bahdur Deuba has condemned the series of bombings in Iraq on Sunday wherein 79 people were killed.

KATHMANDU, July 3: Nepali Congress (NC) President Sher Bahdur Deuba has condemned the series of bombings in Iraq on Sunday wherein 79 people were killed.



A car bomb exploded in the middle of a busy commercial area in Bagdad, killing at least 79 persons, including many children, and leaving scores injured.



In a statement he issued today, President Deuba said that the carnage has shocked and stunned the whole world.



"The incident in Iraq, occurred while the mourning is not over in Afghanistan, Turkey and Bangladesh, has shocked the world again. Nepali Congress condemns the terrorist acts like this which is against the humanity occurring in any part of the globe. NC is firmly in favor of ending the murder, violence and terrorism," reads the press statement.



Extending deep sorrow over the incident to the Iraqis through the government of Iraq, Deuba, also the former Prime Minister, has requested patience for the people in Iraq and move ahead overcoming the grief.



Furthermore, he expressed condolences to the deceased ones and extended his sympathies to the bereaved families. Also, the speedy recovery of the injured ones is wished. RSS
