KATHMANDU, Jan 13: Nepali Congress has nominated Achyut Pandey to replace former chief justice Bishwa Nath Upadhyay as Constituent Assembly member, Chairman of the CA Subas Nembang told the assembly Tuesday evening.

Pandey is general secretary of NC´s trade union wing, Nepal Trade Union Congress.
Upadhyay who had been nominated by NC under proportional representation system after the CA election in April last year refused to be member as member of the assembly and resigned without taking oath. The cabinet approved the NC´s nomination to replace the former chief justice.
