KATHMANDU, March 17: Nepali Congress ( NC) lawmakers and central members representing the Tarai-Madhes have demanded that the party central committee meeting scheduled for upcoming March 23 should take a substantive decision regarding the matter of constitution amendment .
A meeting of party lawmakers and central members from Tarai-Madhes held in Singha Durbar this morning stressed that the party should formally from its upcoming central committee meeting decide to move the constitution amendment process ahead.

Most of lawmakers present in the meeting were of the view that NC for being the country's 'responsible' and largest party was supposed to take initiation to resolve the problems facing the country, lawmaker Ramkrishna Yadav said, following the meeting. "The meeting reached to a conclusion that the NC should take initiation to address the Tarai-Madhes issues."
Dr Shekhar Koirala, Dr Minendra Rijal, Farmullah Mansur, Tarini Dutta Chatut, Amresh Kumar Singh, Keshab Kumar Budathoki and Bharat Saha were among those present in the meeting that insisted on the participation of all political parties in upcoming local election. RSS
