NC candidate Chalise wins Gokarneshwar Municipality mayor

KATHMANDU, May 19:  Nepali Congress candidate Santosh Chalise has taken lead in the mayoral election for Gokaneshwar Municipality. Chalise has secured 9,009 votes.

KATHMANDU, May 19:  Nepali Congress candidate Santosh Chalise has won the mayoral election for Gokaneshwar Municipality. Chalise has secured 9,009 votes.


His closest rival UML candidate Punya Prasad Chaulagain has garnered 7,595 votes.

Maoist Center candidate TR Nepal is in the third position.


Likewise, for the  deputy mayoral post, NC candidate Shanti Nepal is ahead with 8, 595 votes while CPN-UML candidate Shanti Shrestha is in the second position. Maoist Center candidate is trailing way behind with 2,203 votes.  


The total number of votes at Gokaneshwar Municipality is 29,000.
