KABUL, Nov 29: NATO forces say a gunman in an Afghan police uniform has killed six service members in eastern Afghanistan.

NATO says the shooter turned his weapon on NATO troops during a training mission on Monday. He was also killed in the incident.[break]

It was not immediately clear if the shooter was a police officer or someone who had infiltrated the training exercise. Insurgents commonly put on police uniforms to attack Afghan government installations.

NATO says it is investigating the incident along with Afghan authorities.

Details to follow.
