CHITWAN, July 10: The Narayangadh-Mugling road section has been obstructed due to landslides at several places along the highway. 


A big landslide occurred at Ghumaune of Bharatpur Metropolitan City at 5 am today, blocking the highway, according to the District Police Office, Chitwan.

Police said that it will take four to five hours to remove the landslide debris blocking the road at the place provided there is no more land slide. 


Similarly, several smaller scale mudslides have occurred at Topekhola and Jalbire along the highway. Before this, the road was opened for one-way traffic at 1.30 am today by removing the debris that had deposited on the road due to a landslide took place at Gaighat at 11.40 pm on Monday. 


Police have urged for high alert in view of the possibility of landslide at any place along this section of the highway as it has been continuously raining since Monday afternoon. The landslides have taken place at various places along the highway as the roadside has been scraped in course of the road expansion works.
