Faija Parween, founder of Open Space Network and the event organizer of Namaste Mehendi Convention, said she as a henna artist realized that there was no platform for henna artists. She said that the agenda of the convention is to bring all the ladies together, celebrate the holy month of Shrawan and also create a platform for Mehendi artists to show their skills.

Mehendi carries a cultural value in our society for Teej, wedding and various other ceremonies. The organizer said the event promotes the Nepali culture and traditional practice of henna.

Altogether twenty artists, who are spread in Labim Mall at Pulchowk, Lalitpur, and Civil Mall in Sundhara, Kathmandu, are providing the henna service during this convention.
