NAC aircraft returns Kathmandu after technical glitch

KATHMANDU, Nov 7: An aircraft of national flag carrier Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) returned to Kathmandu after witnessing a technical glitch.

The 158-seater Airbus A320-200 with call sign ‘9N-AKX’ had taken off for Hong Kong from Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) at 11:35 am on Saturday.

The aircraft came back within an hour of departure.

“The plane returned to Kathmandu after strange odor was detected at rear part and technical inspection is underway,” NAC Corporate Director and Spokesperson Ramhari Sharma, “Our technical team is working to find out the cause.”  

122 passengers were on board the aircraft.
