KATHMANDU, Sept 17: A Nepal Army soldier deputed in the United Nations (UN) peacekeeping mission in South Sudan was shot at by the People's Liberation Army. The identity of the injured has not been disclosed by the NA.

The incident occurred on Sunday morning while the NA squad was on the way back to its operations base camp after transporting water to Yei. The injured soldier who works with the fourth troupe of Siddhi Baks Battalion deputed there is being treated at a hospital based in Juba, the capital of South Sudan. He is said to be out of a life threatening condition, the NA Directorate of Public Relations said.
The NA has been contributing to the UN peacekeeping missions since in 1958.
