SARLAHI, Dec 26: Police on Tuesday made public two persons accused of the murder of the founder of a private school in Sarlahi.
Organizing a press conference, the Area Police Office (APO), Barahathawa, made public Dhaneshwar Mahato, 30, and Rabindra Mahato, 26, accusing them of murdering Malik Mahato, 30, of Hattidanda last Friday. Both the accused are the residents of Bagmati-8.
According to the police, Dhaneshwar who is the brother-in-law of the slain Malik, called him, asking him to come to the bank of the local Soti River. When Malik reached there, Dhaneshwar killed him with the help of Rabindra and another person, according to the police.

Police further said that after meeting Malik, the murder-accused bought alcohol at Raju Chowk of Barahathawa and took him to the Chorniya Bridge on a motorcycle. According to police, they killed Malik with a sharp weapon when he was under the influence of alcohol. Malik's body was recovered from near the bridge on Saturday afternoon.
It has been learnt that Malik and Dhaneshwar were realtors working in partnership. However, they had bad blood between them after Malik allegedly took all the profit by selling a piece of land six months ago. Police say Dhaneswar killed Malik out of jealousy.
Police Inspector Poshraj Pokharel informed Republica that Dhaneshwar had offered Rs 3,000 each to Rabindra, a jeep driver, and the other "accomplice" for assisting him. Police are searching for the third accused who has already been identified.
Police have recovered the sharp weapon used in the murder, a motorcycle and the clothes worn by Rabindra during the murder.
Malik was the principal and founder of Vision Boarding School located at Bagmati-3. Malik, the only son of his parents, is survived by a wife and two sons.
